The Water Quality Association of Göteborg and Bohus County is a voluntary association formed by municipalities and companies whose discharges or business activities might affect the coastal water.

 The board of the Association consists of company and municipality representatives. Further, there is a consultative group which consists of experts from the different municipalities, the companies and the provincial government.

 On behalf of its members, the Association carries out regular investigations of the coastal water and reports the results to the members, the provincial government and other interested parties. At regular intervals the programme is evaluated.

• monitoring of the marine enviroment along the coast
• special investigations on behalf of the members
• evaluation of results and methods
• dissemination of reports
• arranging courses and lectures on the marine environment
